A beautiful full-color mural painted during the Great Depression as a WPA Project is featured in the Hoisington Post Office, at 119 E. Second, on the East-facing wall.
The mural depicts a traditional wheat threshing scene as the harvest was performed in the 30s.
An “updated” version created by our local High School Art Teacher in the 1990s is featured on the West-facing wall, and depicts wheat harvest as it is performed in present day.
The Post Office is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The murals are available to be viewed by the public at any time, day or night.
